About David 

David Way is a conservative, life-long Republican committed to preserving judicial integrity and keeping activist judges off the bench. He has been married to his wife, Missy, for over 26 years and they have three children - James, Anna and Olivia.  David and his family are parishioners at St. Pius X Catholic Church and his wife is a teacher at St. Pius Elementary School.

 David has practiced law for 26 years and is a partner at Oliver & Way LLC. David has a general civil practice which has ranged from defending individuals and businesses which have been sued to helping people who are seeking to obtain justice themselves.  His practice has taken him from Justice of the Peace courts all the way to the Supreme Court.  He is a past President of the Duhe Inn of Court and a past President of the Young Lawyers Association of Lafayette.

David’s commitment to Lafayette goes far beyond the courtroom.  He remains active with the Kiwanis Club of Lafayette of which he is a past President.  David has served as the chairman of the High School Football Jamboree which raises money for the children of Acadiana with projects such as Parc Independence and the Rewards for Reading in elementary schools.  David has been selected as Kiwanian of the year.

David has served as a baseball, softball and basketball coach at CSA (Cajun Sports Association) out at Beaullieu Park.  He has served on CSA’s Board of Directors as Baseball Commissioner, Softball Commissioner and as a member at-large,.  David is a proud Eagle Scout (as is his son, James) and David has served as Troop Committee chair for Troop 10 in Lafayette.  David and Missy are active members of the Krewe of Bonaparte where David serves as a float captain.
